Learn. Grow. Succeed.

Every child has their own strengths, challenges and pace of learning. At Ascent Academy, we build the knowledge, thinking skills and confidence that help students take their next step, and keep climbing.

Our story

We built Ascent for students who want to go further.

Ascent Academy was created from years of experience in NSW classrooms, where we saw how much more students could achieve when teaching went beyond worksheets and repetition.

We wanted to create something different, a structured program where Writing, English, Mathematics and Thinking Skills work together, where classes stay small enough for every student to be known, and where progress is visible.

That's why we built WEMT: a carefully designed three-year journey that grows with students from Year 3 foundations through OC preparation in Year 4 and Selective preparation in Year 5.

Understand it. Master it. Own it. Our teaching principle

How we teach

What that looks like for your child

Four skills, one class

Writing, English, Mathematics and Thinking Skills are taught together every week, helping students build the ability to apply what they know across different types of questions.

Eight students, no more

Small enough for every student to be noticed, supported and challenged, while still learning from how others approach a problem.

Our own materials

Course notes, problem sets and practice papers are written in-house by subject specialists and refined each year.

Progress you can see

Weekly work is marked and tracked, with a written report each term so you can see how your child's skills and confidence are developing.

Where we teach

On campus in Bella Vista, or live online

The same Ascent experience, wherever you learn. Our live online classes follow the same curriculum, use the same materials and are taught by the same standard of teachers as our campus classes. Students work together in real time through an interactive online classroom.

  • Same marking either wayOnline students submit their work and receive the same weekly marking and feedback as campus students.
  • Switch freelyNeed to stay home one week? Families can move between campus and online classes when needed.

The campus

Teaching rooms built for small groups, a quiet space open before and after class, and a parent waiting area with the term's course outline on the wall, so you can see exactly what's being taught and when.
